Pastor Phil Munsey

Phillip Munsey has been in full time ministry since 1976. Having been raised in a Pastors home with a rich spiritual heritage, he has been able to go forth and successfully accomplish great things in ministry. He is the Senior Pastor of The Life Church, a thriving church of over two thousand members, in Mission Viejo, California, which he and his wife, Jeannie Munsey, founded in January 1985. An influencer among influencers, Phil serves many ministries in official capacities, including Joel Osteen/Lakewood Church, Tommy Tenney and God Chasers International, and Integrity Leadership Ministries among others. Phil Munsey’s motto in life is “You can touch the world if you don’t care who gets the credit.” Phil Munsey travels as a conference speaker around the world. He is currently Associate Trainer with John Maxwell’s Equip Ministry in Venezuela, South America working with over 1,800 pastors and leaders. His legacy includes a mother and father who founded the Family Christian Center in Munster, Indiana, over 50 years ago and where their son Steve Munsey continues the legacy as Pastor of this mega-church. Phil’s parents have not retired, they presently oversee the leadership training school they founded in Sophia, Bulgaria. Phil’s love for the Bible, his knowledge of culture, a positive world-view, mixed with his Pentecostal roots, makes his style one that stimulates the mind and stirs the spirit. Pastors Phil and Jeannie have been married since 1978 and currently reside in Modjeska Canyon, California. They have three grown children: Kara, Phillip II, and Andrew and a son-in-law, Pastor Doug Bisel.

Pastor Phil is also a community activist and in 2004 won the “Spirit of Dignity Award”, awarded once a year to a top leader in South Orange County. (An award previously given to Rick Warren).

For his successful leadership and labor in serving the Church community at large, Phil was given an honorary Doctoral of Divinity from Bethel Christian College.

Phil & Jeannie Munsey have been frequent guests and hosts on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, ‘Praise The Lord’ program on many occasions. (Over 100 appearances). Their ministry continues to reach the local area as well as around the world, through television.

Pastor Jeannie Munsey

Pastor Jeannie was born and raised in a prominent business family in Anaheim, CA, Pastor Jeannie grew up a literal “California Girl”. Pastor Jeannie began singing before she could say her first words. Her mother taught her to play the piano and, along with her three siblings, Pastor Jeannie began a singing group called “The Coffey Four”. They toured and sang across America, singing from church to church with their harmonic voices.

Graduating at age fifteen, her passion for music drove her to pursue a music degree at Jackson Bible College in Mississippi. She graduated at nineteen and received numerous offers as a worship leader; she accepted the Detroit, Michigan position, where she met Pastor Phil Munsey, her soon to be husband. At twenty one years of age, she married Pastor Phil and began to travel and minister. In 1985, she co-founded the Life Church with Pastor Phil.

Pastor Jeannie released her first album in 1995 entitled “How Mighty Is Our God." Songs from this album can now be heard in churches around the world. “Precious Lord," a song from this album and written and composed by Pastor Jeannie, is included on the Maranatha Praise 19 Project.

Weekly, Pastor Jeannie continues to minister at Life Church as a Senior Pastor and as Worship Pastor. She earnestly and passionately leads the congregation in worship in which the people experience God through the touch of the Holy Spirit, which causes change and renewal in their lives. In addition, Pastor Jeannie teaches regularly from the pulpit. Her great sense of humor and her knowledge of the Word of God make powerful yet practical sermons.

Pastor Jeannie wears many hats: Senior Pastor, Worship Pastor, Chief Financial Officer, Writer, Composer, and best of all, Mother. Her passion for the Word of God, deep Worship, and humble spirit make her a unique gift to the Body of Christ. She is the proud mother of three – Kara, Phillip II and Andrew.
